Our Story
Born On The River
The owner, Homer Brown, is a native to Idaho County and grew up in White Bird, Idaho. After he returned home from the United States Army, Homer pursued his Captain's license and started working as a jet boat captain doing what he truly loves: guiding fishing trips on the river.
With over 17 years of experience working in the outfitter industry, Homer was able to start his own outfitting business, Hammer Down River Excursions, in White Bird, ID. He wanted to start showing people what it's like to fish and tour the Salmon River and Hells Canyon like a local!
