The Owner, Homer Brown is a native to Idaho County and grew up in White Bird, Idaho. After he returned home from the United States Army, Homer pursued his Captain’s license and started working as a Jet Boat Captain doing what he truly loves…guiding fishing trips on the river. With over 17 years of experience working in the Outfitter Industry, Homer was able to start his own outfitting business: Hammer Down River Excursions in White Bird, ID! He wanted to start showing people what its like to fish and tour the Salmon River and Hells Canyon like a local!

Hammer Down River Excursions employs several Professional Guides and Office Employees that are passionate about giving you the best experience possible-The Trip of a Lifetime! We value each guest and want everyone to feel at home whether it’s on our boats, in our office, or over a phone conversation! Authenticity is key to us, and we know it’s important to you!
